If you a are painting and covering furniture and the floor you may need extra as a couch will require one of ther to cover it completely

Ive gone the disposable cheap route in the past using thin plastic sheeting and that had a time and a place but plastic also has its drawbacks

I guess one benefit is that plastic is pretty much impermeable to paint so if you spill its not getting through to whatever is coveredthese canvas drop cloths stay where you put them lie nice and flat to the floor and give you good traction

Of course if you dump a gallon of paint on these and let it sit it will soak through
